Here is a picture of my latest cuff bracelet. I wish I could take better pictures. I like the way it turned out. I don't do a lot of Mokume Gane but I like the way it came out on the bracelet sides. Hope you like it too. The nose still bugs me. But my friend Maggie says I am too hard on myself. I think when I look at something for a long time I begin to see only the flaws and not what was good about it when I first looked at it. Oh well that is why I avoid mirrors!

Absolutely gorgeous! Such a unique cuff.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful beyond words!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to tell you to ignore what you perceive as a flaw but I know you won't and really, you shouldn't. That's one of the reasons your work just gets better and better. You have the ability to look at what you make with a critical eye. Not everyone can do that.
But do take comfort in the fact that you're the only one who sees the minor flaws. We have no way of knowing what the vision in your head was when you set out to make that cane so we have nothing to compare it to. To us, it's wonderful. Just like you!
My cuff fetish is raging so let me know if you decide to sell these!
Gorgeous cuff! And the face cane is amazing. Each one you do just seems better than the last!
ReplyDeleteI recognized your influence immediately, which is quite amazing considering your choice of medium. That the nose is a little different from the original shouldn't bother you. It's a beautiful piece exactly the way it is!
