Face Cane Class

Well folks I have been a bit negligent on my posts to my blog. Sorry about that. I will get some pics up from my creations that I made at Cabin Fever but I wanted to show you my latest face cane. I will be teaching a class in Albuquerque at the end of this month. I wanted to show my students some diversity in the face cane we are making. During class we will be building a lady with a hat. Ever since watching Donna Kato's video which included how to do Ikat canes I was curious if that would work on hair for my face canes. So far I am pleased with how it came out. It may lose all definition after reduction but I won't be reducing this cane until I get to Albuquerque. Since the cane has to rest I knew we wouldn't get to this point with our class but I wanted a finished cane so I could show them how I reduce my canes. In the past I have made triangles out of my canes to reduce the Jana method but I had success with Obama as a rectangle so I am going to try it again. Now I am trying to get some printed instructions for the class and then I have to prepare my own clay for the class. This teaching a class stuff is a lot of work. My hat is off to those who do this all the time. I bought myself a birthday present yesterday - a Blackberry Storm. If I can figure out how to use it I hope to post pic to my blog from class. Until later - Happy Claying!

I loved being with you at CF...wish so badly that I could come to Albuquerque! You will have a ball and do wonderfully in teaching your finely honed skills.

Let me know how it goes...I'll be thinking about you (and wishing I was in your class!!).
